It's Cold, But We're Still Flying

Hello everyone! Yup, it's winter, and sometimes darn cold, but we're still flying at GVE. There's been some blustery, sit-on-the-ground weather over the past few weeks. However there's also been some sweet, smooth air to be had. Perfect for acro! Carpe diem.

Took care of some maintenance items on 02A over the past few weeks:
  • Oil & filter change
  • Calibration of fuel tanks using a calibrated scale under the tail (now a very precise method of ensuring we're spot-on with weight and balance)
  • Recurring inspection for the rear seat-back airworthiness directive (AD)
  • Certification of a new mode S transponder
Over the past couple months we worked with some new acro students and inductees to the fun-loving times learning to fly a tailwheel airplane. Join the ranks. Don't be shy. It'll be the most fun you've had in an airplane in a long time.

Post a comment, give a call, email, drop by on the weekend, enjoy some of Bluebird Aerodrome's fine, Southern cooking. Let's go turn it upside down and get a new perspective of the world!

Happy Holidays to all, enjoy the end of 2010, and the new beginnings that 2011 presents.

First Blog Posting

Hello from Dan Rogers with my first posting to this new blog. As I get my bearings, this blog should contain current information about my activities with acro, unusual attitude recovery, and tailwheel instruction at the end of 2010 and into 2011. All very exciting!
